A project collaborative project for Mov’eo start-ups and SMEs

The European project MobiGoIn-Action allows start-ups and SMEs members of four European clusters to travel to USA, Canada, China and Singapore, benefiting from tailor-made services.

MOBIGOIN-ACTION: Approaching smart mobility markets

The project is adressed to all European SMEs interested in business opportunities in North America (USA / Canada) and Asia (China / Singapore). It regroups the automotive and smart city markets.

For each region, companies can apply for the acceleration phase and the international mission. Acceleration services include a series of training workshops, exchanges with strategic partners and a European matchmaking event.

The international mission offers to the selected SMEs a tailor-made mission and a co-financed support so that they can adress the target markets with more ease. Regarding the content, the mission includes participation to one or more international events dedicated to smart mobility, meetings with key players from the regional ecosystem, btob with pre-identified partners (commercial partners, corporates, investors, etc.) and visits of key mobility regional sites.

Note: Number of places for the international missions are limited. Therefore, companies taking part in the acceleration services (and thus contributing to the customization of the mission) will be favored during the evaluation process.

Mov’eo’s competitiveness unit is a member of a European consortium made up of four clusters concerned with the themes of mobility and innovation.  The project coordinator, Fondazione Torino Wireless (Italy), is a tech cluster that specialises in the areas of ICT, smart cities and smart communities.  Its 800-company strong network includes around a hundred that are already tried and tested in the mobility market.  Another tech cluster partner, BWCON (Germany), focuses on ICT and has launched applications for use in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries in cooperation with its 600 members. Media Evolution (Sweden) contributes to innovation and growth within digital industries located in southern Sweden.  This cluster boasts 350 SME members.

In total, the consortium represents 1,100 businesses that have been involved in the project on either a short or long-term basis.

The Cluster Go International call to projects comes as part of the new SME-dedicated European funding programme:  COSME.

Its purpose is to fund preliminary activities leading to the establishment of new European Strategic Cluster Partnerships (ESCP). More specifically, its aim is to identify mutually complementary European clusters that are willing to form partnerships with one another with a view to collaborating together to develop a common strategy for the internationalisation of their members.

By providing support for European inter-cluster cooperation and the international expansion of these Consortia of Clusters, the European Commission hopes to improve competitiveness among European businesses and SMEs in order to facilitate the emergence of new innovative value chains in a variety of sectors, including automotive and mobility.
