Hosting of an Italian delegation on powertrain topics

October 17, 2024

Connecting members, exchanging best practices and providing them with international support: these are just a few of NextMove's ambitions, and various actions are proposed to cluster members to achieve them. On this occasion, we had the opportunity to welcome a delegation to present the powertrain ecosystem in the Paris Region to an Italian delegation interested in the topic.

From October 14 to 16, 2024, an Italian delegation traveled to Paris and took part in a mission tailor-made by NextMove, in collaboration with partner clusters MESAP and Clust-ER MECH, from the Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna regions respectively.

Through visits and discussions with members of the NextMove ecosystem, participants were able to learn more about their powertrain activities, and discover the French ecosystem in general.

Day 1 - Embedded electronics and wiring at the heart of a wide range of sectors

On the first day of the mission, the delegation was first received by Groupe Genaris, at their premises in Guyancourt.

This was an opportunity for the NextMove member to present its range of activities around engineering and industrialization services, such as electrical systems engineering and manufacturing, test and measurement benches, electronic board development, embedded systems, mechatronics and software, but also through solutions developed such as the digitization of road and rail assets.

Following this presentation and a tour of the workshops, an idea workshop was held to share ideas and potential avenues of collaboration between the company hosting the group and the delegation participants.

Day 2 - Focus on the automotive ecosystem

The second day included visits to some of France's leading automotive engineering companies:

The group was first welcomed at FEV France in Trappes, a test and assembly center for electric powertrains. A presentation was given, followed by a tour of the assembly and testing of the electric motor and electric drive unit, testing of the power electronics, as well as the cell, module and battery pack.
