1 janvier 2022

Mov'eo, in cooperation with the Elektromobilität Süd-West cluster (in Germany), organized a Franco-German pitching session on July 7th in order to encourage the emergence of collaborative projects that meet the needs of our members.

Mov'eo, a dynamic pole in Europe and abroad, at the service of its members For several years, Mov'eo has been developing its network in Europe and internationally, so that its members can approach new markets and have all the keys in hand to succeed in their internationalization. The cluster supports your organization in accessing financing, finding international partners and drafting your projects. The emergence of transnational collaborative projects is therefore one of our priorities, as they offer unique opportunities for SMEs, but also large groups, universities and research organizations. The Franco-German pitchs of July 7: targeted themes for fruitful exchanges This is why, on July 7th, Mov'eo and the German cluster Elektromobilität Süd-West gathered no less than 20 members * for a Franco-German pitching session: AV Simulation, CIRTEM, Geoflex, IoT.bzh, Menta, NXP, IMT Atlantique / INRIA, Institut Vedecom, YoGoKo Bright Testing GmbH, CarMedialab GmbH, Fraunhofer IOSB, Huber Automotive AG, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology wbk, MicroNova AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Schaeffler Group, TheSys GmbH, University of Applied Sciences Esslingen – Institute for Sustainable Energy Technology and Mobility, Würth Elektronik Group This mobilization was encouraged by the definition of three specific themes that respond to the skills and needs of our respective members:

Electronic components for vehicles and their production: Development and production of electronic components for electric and other vehicles, standardisation etc.
Power electronics: Semiconductors, electronic packaging, standardisation etc.
Autonomous and connected driving in cross-border traffic: Validation, standardisation, roaming, cross-border transition from one network into another etc.

In turn, the participants took turns to make a dynamic 3-minute presentation in English, based on a common template filled out prior to the event. The participants were able to highlight their ideas for collaborative projects and the skills they were looking for in order to submit them to funders. There was also a question and answer session after each presentation. Our willingness to source members on very specific themes, and then to encourage them to go into detail about their needs during the presentations, resulted in immediate contacts during the event. These exchanges also intensified after the event, as Mov'eo and Elektromobilität Süd-West distributed the participants' catalogue to everyone. The presentation of funding opportunities for Franco-German R&I projects: FTI, Eurostars, and Bpifrance-ZIM call for proposals During this session on 7 July, participants also benefited from a presentation of the activities of Mov'eo and Elektromobilität Süd-West, as well as funding opportunities for collaborative R&I projects:

Fast Track to Innovation (FTI) : This H2020 instrument is a "bottom-up" call for projects that allows for the financing of collaborative innovations close to the market. FTI can thus finance validation, testing in real conditions, pilot lines, standardisation, etc. (Deadline: 27 October 2020)

Eurostars: The Eurostars programme is a programme co-financed by the EUREKA initiative and the European Commission, which supports innovative SMEs with high growth potential in their projects and which devote substantial investments to R&D. (Deadline: 3 September 2020)

Bpifrance-ZIM call: France and Germany have launched the Bpifrance/ZIM call for proposals for joint R&D projects. It is aimed at SMEs, start-ups and mid-caps with strong international growth potential, but also universities and research institutes. (Deadline: 15 October 2020)

This event was an opportunity to initiate contacts between French and German partners, but also to present the different funding opportunities, with a view to the emergence of collaborative projects. A second event is planned where these projects can be presented to a committee of Franco-German experts, to advise them and ensure their chances of success. *The event was also open to non-pitching organisations : Bertrandt, Centum Adeneo, EDI GmbH, Segula Technologies, et Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG.
