Franco-German bilateral call for projects in artificial intelligence

This bilateral call for projects aims to encourage Franco-German research collaborations particularly in the following application areas: transport and mobility, logistics and services, energy (in particular renewable energy), environment and protective resources, industrial and production technologies, health, robotics and society.

The call proposes two different instruments:

Four-year projects, between two French and German higher education or research institutions, aimed at strengthening bilateral research collaborations in AI (type 1). Three-year projects between French and German higher education or research institutions and industrial partners for research and development of AI application areas (type 2).

Each agency will fund the call for proposals with €5 million. The budget requested for type 1 projects must be between €300,000 and €400,000 and for type 2 projects between €600,000 and €800,000.

Joint proposals must be submitted on the submission sites of the ANR and BMBF.

Closing date 21st December 2020 (maximum 15-page dossier expected).
